MAKKAL ARANGAM
It is perhaps customary to thank one and all after a function. But, in the case of Makkal Arangam, this thanking can never consist of formal words. The shooting of Makkal Arangam on the 12thDecember was in fact, a sentimental journey for all our TOSA members. At the end of the shooting, TOSA members have reacted in a way that defied all expectations.
We thought we will be happy; but we were overwhelmed with joy. We thought that we will cherish a day with Director Visu Sir; but for each one of us, this was perhaps the most important day in our lives. We thought that a few will secretly wipe droplets of water called 'tears' falling from their eyes; but we were unable to control our sentimental outbursts for the importance given to the place where we lived and spent our unforgettable and evergreen childhood.
Sunday, the 12th December was the culmination of the wishes of TOSA members to project our village in a big way. When we saw the features of our village in the backdrop of the MA stage, we could not believe our eyes. It was like a dream come true. From Visu Sir and his team, we got more than we desired. Our expectations were modest but the reciprocation by Visu Sir and his team was overwhelming!
Did we get more than what we deserved? This question lingered in our minds. But then we are aware that Visu Sir is a stickler for truth and perfection. His finishing remarks convinced us that, after all, we have won an arduous race in clinching our credibility with Visu Sir. We feel justifiably happy that we have not used scissors that separate, but we have used a needle that unites people. When Visu Sir mentioned the prominent persons who lived in our village, we knew that our little place has become better known now than in all these centuries.
We are thrilled about the cascading effects that this show would bring about, once it is telecast. Our village, our temple and our school will be globally noticed. The sons and daughters of our village in various countries will view the show with astonishment that they would not conceal. Thousands of our villagers settled abroad will tell their sons and daughters stories glorifying the place where they lived. MA mailbox will get flooded with E-mails inquiring about TOSA. Many will make a pilgrimage to our village searching for their roots.
