Natural calamities ahead – Human race
is moving towards no man’s land

World is revolving in a greater speed and every human being  with sixth sense is trying to be selfish in the present modern world. Great spiritual leaders in the past had been warning about global warming and even predicted calamities ahead. This is so for the sole reason that we, human beings are not bothered about tomorrow but we are more concerned about today and that too we are bothered about ourselves.

Economists, all over the world are concentrating only on making research to find about the volatility of the market and national income/per capita income/developing and developed countries’ status and comparing with one country to the other and trying to push the common man with their threatening comments that is slowly pushing the world to the wall of making money and trying to enjoy the present days leaving the future in the hands of nature. Alas, our country which is called as the country which has high potential for agricultural produces and with an assumption that it is marching towards self reliant on the food products is facing the wrath of growing land development and building activities. Punjab, land known for wheat production at its peak is declining in its production as the farmers are selling their agricultural lands to the concrete jungle builders who lure the common farmer with crores of rupees for a golden land which could quench the thirst of food needs of the entire population of the country. It is unfortunate that for a few rupees we make the farmers to become blind permanently. Land which always look like a green carpet giving cooler effect to the eye sight and at the same time giving the livelihood through its gift of food to the people is being exploited to look like the debris of steel and cement and while the demand for food is increasing and supply is decreasing, the concrete jungle is taking a giant look by mere investment of few lakhs by the builders to make them millionaires and billionaires.

Whatever may be the Keynesian Theory of Economics or the great brains of Economists work together, unless the basics of nature is understood, nothing could come to the rescue of the World to tie down the demand for food.  Staple food in every country is need of the hour and every Government should understand this aspect and every Government should try to find out the way of how to cultivate the food produces and how to equally distribute to their citizens through proper public distribution system. Central theme of every Government should be “Food First – Rest next”.

Added to this building of concrete jungles, not only the prices of steel and cement are going up, but demand for water is also increasing thereby giving more trouble to the available water as a natural resource which is also diminishing.

Our country which has a legend of spiritual power could withstand all the pressures of natural injustice done by the human race to a greater extent than other countries but one should be aware of the fact that once the world starts exploding with the great infrastructural expansion in terms of cement and steel by testing the patience of the great earth, living would become very difficult and in the years to come, we should face the wrath of human eating the other.

Now that inflation at double digits, demand for food on the increasing trend and supply becoming less will definitely create a great pressure in the economic scenario and any measure to contain this inflation cannot withstand in the long run unless agricultural production is given the highest priority. Government should come out with stringent action against those who convert the agricultural land into non agricultural lands and farmers who are following the practice of selling their agricultural lands to the builders of the concrete jungles should be viewed seriously and no concession to such farmers should be extended to. Even waiver off the agricultural loan in the recent budget is nothing but an eye wash and no Minister could gauge the actual impact or the suffering that a farmer in a remote village is facing.  Actual outflow of how the waived off debt is not known and it is difficult to find out whether the actually affected farmer has got the benefit to the fullest extent and no one could tally the amount of this debt relief in terms of accountability.

One should realize that creation is the sole authority of the mother nature and making out of the creation is the invention by the man kind. Probably this fact has been known as “God’s Creation” and “Man Made”. Human race made the value for money without knowing the real value of the nature and the same money is being used as an instrument to create financial turbulence in the market. Earning money through unethical means and encouraging such unethical way to amass wealth is being instigated by way of offering bribes where at least 40 to 50% of such unethical means account for the budget deficit of a country’s revenue.

When one section of people enjoy luxury, the other section is struggling to get a penny for their livelihood. Imbalance is the striking factor for any economy. If we try to find out the methods how every individual could lead a happy life and if human resources are utilized for this purpose, I think that we could win the battle of poverty and win the hearts of people by firstly doing away the evil of bribing, following ethical living, being friendly with nature and above all bringing up a unity in human community as a whole leaving all difference of opinion and avoid fighting in the name of religion.

Human race should understand that it should not bring about imbalance in the nature and try to maintain equilibrium by utilizing their senses provided to them. Equanimity and Ethical life alone could bring about the peace and harmony!

Nature loves peace – Nature loves the love shown to it and then only Nature will turn out to be mother nature to nurture this world with its unending love to see prosperity in the human race!
